I thought you were referring to a brother or sister's virginity.
If that is the case, NO.

they may fly off the handle just like that!.

...without doing anything unscriptural.. what made them jealous, nervous or afraid of your behavior that wasn't against anything in the bible?.
for me, i find plenty of information on this forum way before any in the congregation (or circuit/district for that matter).
everything from new campaigns, death of gb members, letter to the body of elders (as in the new wt format arrangement starting next year), question from readers in wt magazines that haven't even been delivered to the congregation, ordering the new revelation book in paperback with the revisions already in it while the entire congregation is cutting and pasting out of the kingdom ministry insert...etc.. how do i know all of these things?

How do I know all of these things? I'm not even an elder. The others in the congregation tend to seek me for advance information. The elder body is quite disturbed and jealous about this. A few elders ask me how do I know all these things before they do. I just say that some friends told me (as they know that I have JW acquaintances all over the world in various congregations and branch offices, with several in New York).
They are uneasy that some of their power in terms of information control isn't under their constraint.

P.S. Thanks to all posters on JWD for your contributions!!
in a recent post, i asked for help with a "jw" organization chart i am trying to create.. my greatest problem was with understanding the relationships at the "upper level" of the organization.
i have addressed this in some detail in my latest iteration and believe i am getting closer.. my picture is at:.

What about inserting the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" in brackets besides the Governing Body. Afterall, the GB is the FDS in reality. Oh yes they are! It comes down to that and not the scattered remaining annointed throughout the earth.

the above is the title of the "article" on the back of the april 2007 awake!
magazine.
what follows is the body of the "article.
Don't forget that the WTS is a publishing company with many departments. One of them, the Writing Department, has a small group within. This small group of brothers are basically involved in marketing and advertising. They are the ones that produce the back page articles.

every month the faithful dutifully calculate their blood and sweat, slaving for watchtumor.
does it ever occur to them, that this timeclock mentality has its roots in secularism and not christianity.
there are no scriptural precedents for the calculating and turning in of time for the governing body.
I suggested to the elders that everyone should turn in their field service report, but without names. I used Matthew 6:2,3 as my scriptural basis.
The answer I got wasn't based on scripture. One elder said it was to monitor the spiritual health of the individual sheep. I then used Matthew 13:23 as my rebuttal. The elder than replied that it was direction from the FDS. He didn't show any scriptures. He did, however, suggest that I look up the publications. I thought that these men were supposed to be teachers and have the ability to reason. I thought wrong.
I could understand the idea of turning in a field service report could produce positive results in the ministry from a regional/worldwide viewpoint. However, at the individual level it should not be held against anyone. Thus, the suggestion of the no name reports. Maybe I ought to write Brooklyn about this.

P.S. I always seem to forget turning in my report on time. The secretary always has to take the extra step to find or call me.
i was wondering if there are any current regular posters here that are still active , but are mentally inactive and don't believe all the bull anymore, and are just going through the motions to keep their life with friends and family together.. i realize this might be a posting that will probably get 0 replies, but.......
I'm in and considered to be in good standing.
Trying to be a true Christian while filtering out any man made traditions and rules. It works for me. I'd be the brother in the congregation that always talks about Jehovah and Jesus while constantly cracking open the Bible to encourage and upbuild others. You never hear me saying "FDS" or "Organization" in my conversations.
No wonder why many in the congregation say they feel refreshed when talking with me. The elders and the other hand can't get a hold on me.
True Christian freedom makes the elders nervous. Perhaps even jealous. Mind you, I was even appointed an elder, TWICE. I declined both times.

when one comes to the realization that the wtbs is not even close to being the true religion,.
sitting thru the mind numbing and butt numbing meetings can be painful and unbearable.
thru them by laughing to myself at what is said from the platform and from the audience.
Lately I've been hearing this remark from the ones in the congregation: "We are living at the very end of the final part of the last days."
Geez, how close to the end can you get?

Any seat to your liking, BUT choose in front of the wings. In front of the wings mean in front of the engines. Tremendous difference in noise reduction. Of course if you have headphones or earplugs during the trip, then it wouldn't matter.
That is one major reason why first/business class is in the front of the aircraft. The other reason is for expedited disembarking upon arrival.
Choose bulkhead seats otherwise if you are in economy. It's more than just legroom. It doesn't give you the feeling of being cramped in. Plus you can get up anytime and move about. Window or aisle doesn't really matter to me if I'm sitting in a bulkhead seat next to an exit.

the jw's will say that in jesus time, it was ok to have a beard because it was their custom back then, and today jw's should not have a beard because it's not our custom to have one today.. since the world is ever changing, it will continue changing, and beards might come back and be popular once more.. it's only a cheap excuse on their part, because they will never accept beards, even if every man wore one today..
A few years back, a brother in my congregation had his privileges revoked because he grew a well trimmed goatee. It looked nice and was fitting for him. Several in the congregation complemented him on it. I did. He looked distinguished, like Shaun Connery. However, the elders were uncomfortable with it. This brother shaved it off after about 6 months after the constant hounding and guilt trip the elders gave him.
Not long ago the circuit overseer had one elder shave off his mustache. This elder was the only male in the congregation to have one. I assumed that the circuit overseer said that it made this elder stand out and that it wasn't necessary to have one.
The New York Yankees have a policy about beards in their organization. If you had one, you wouldn't get hired. If you grew one, then you would get fired. Mind you, this is corporate policy that their employees must adhere to. The WTS has the same mindset. A company can stipulate such, but aren't the JWs a brotherhood/family instead?
Alligator Wisdom (aka Brother NOT Exerting Vigorously)
To answer the question of the post, for the most part NO. But if you are in a congregation with a liberal tendency in a small rural area far away from the general populace in a developing country that are accustomed to beards, then perhaps.
it has occurred to me that we xjws may not be taking full advantage of the 1935 gaffe and admission in the may 1 watchtower.. after all this is not just a change of doctrine, it is an admission (although they probably dont realize it), that in 1935, rutherford, their second president made a presumptuous , blasphemous announcement on behalf of jesus christ.
he said, without any authority to do so, that christ had stopped taking people into his kingdom.
rutherford actually took it upon himself to stop people entering the kingdom.
Side note:
I brought up this subject several times to different ones in the congregation. The response I got was just about the same for each person.
With a glazed look on their face they said, "This shows we living at the very end of the final part of the last days."
WHAT?????
